Simple yet sophisticated, this is the perfect accessory for Spring and Summer. It is worked lengthwise with a reversible openwork design which makes it lightweight yet warm enough to ward off any evening chills.
The pattern is easy to knit and is worked in a cotton mix yarn which has great stitch definition and a lovely drape. DIFFICULTY: Easy
TECHNIQUES REQUIRED: Knitting, purling, slipped stitches and wrapping stitches for openwork pattern. SIZES: Medium Scarf (Long Scarf, Wrap) Width: 22.5 (22.5, 50) cm / 9 (9, 20) ins Length: 170 (185, 185) cm / 66 (72, 72) ins MATERIALS: Yarn: Knit Picks Shine Sport-weight yarn, 60% Pima cotton, 40% Modal, 100m/110 yds:50gm ball in Colour #6567 Butter x5 (6, 12) balls. Actual amount used in Medium size scarf: 230gm/8.2 oz, 460m/506 yds. Yarn substitution: To use an alternative yarn, please select a cotton mix Sportweight yarn that drapes well and with a recommended gauge of 24 sts:10 cm/4 ins using 3.25-3.75mm / US #3-5 needles. Needles: Size 4.0mm/US #6 circular needles in length 120cm/48 ins or longer. Gauge: 19 sts/32 rows:10cm/4 ins in Garter Stitch using 4.0mm/US #6 needles. Notions: Row Counter, water mister and tapestry needle for finishing. |
