Ocean Currents Rug
The design of the Ocean Currents Rug is reminiscent of gentle waves as they make their way to the shore. The patterning has symmetry without predictability, giving the design an almost three-dimensional quality.
The wonderfully gentle gradations of colour are achieved by working with two strands of yarn held together in ever-changing combinations. A longer version of the rug can be worked by repeating the central colour sequence one or more times.

Cascade 220 worsted wt yarn, 100% wool,
205m/220 yds:100gm ball or handspun equivalent in 5 cols:
Col 1: Navy x2 balls
Col 2: Dark Blue x7 balls
Col 3: Medium Blue x8 balls
Col 4: Light Blue x7 balls
Col 5: Pale Blue x2 balls.
Actual Amt used:
Col 1: 180gm/7 oz, Col 2: 650gm/23 oz, Col 3: 720gm/25 oz,
Col 4: 610gm/21 oz & Col 5: 140gm/5 oz.
6.0mm/US #10 circ ndls, length 100cm/40 ins
18 sts/32 rows:10cm/4 ins in Slip St Rib patt using
2 strands of yarn held tog & 6.0mm/US #10 ndls.
Tapestry ndl for finishing ends.
